I believe the best water purifier is one that does not alter water’s nature, instead, it restores water to its original state. For tap water, safety is not the issue, rather, the healthiness of the water we drink is.
A high-quality water purifier, especially for household use, should simply excel at purification: filter out fine particulate impurities, bacteria, viruses, and residual chlorine from water, leaving only water molecules, natural minerals, and trace elements.
Why do we advocate boiling water before drinking?
Essentially, it uses high temperature to sterilize, disinfect, and evaporate residual chlorine. A water purifier, however, traps bacteria, viruses, and residual chlorine through filtration, making water cleaner and safe for direct consumption. This eliminates the hassle of boiling water and waiting for it to cool down. That’s the value proposition of ChengrongEra Mineral-Water-like Water Purifier: it purifies water effectively while sparing you the trouble of boiling.
Most kitchen water purifiers on the market, no matter how sophisticated their marketing slogans are, mainly rely on activated carbon to enhance water taste and remove odors.
ChengrongEra Mineral-Water-like Water Purifier, though lacking fancy frills, uses activated carbon fiber (ACF), a material with higher cost, stronger adsorption capacity, and longer service life, to adsorb odors, discoloration, and residual chlorine in water, thereby improving taste and eliminating unwanted smells. With the same volume, the specific surface area of ChengrongEra’s ACF is 400 times that of granular carbon, boasting greater adsorption capacity and faster adsorption kinetics, hard to find a rival in the industry.
Moreover, our filter adopts a composite integrated design. Compared to similar products on the market, our filter media area is at least twice that of competitors, while the overall unit remains compact. As long as the customer’s cabinet height exceeds 48cm, ChengrongEra Mineral-Water-like Water Purifier can be easily installed.
Unlike most kitchen water purifiers that first trap particulate impurities, bacteria, and viruses before improving taste, ChengrongEra’s purification process works differently: it first enhances water taste via ACF, then uses a residual chlorine-removing ultrafiltration (UF) membrane—exclusively developed by Chengrong’s UF manufacturing plant—to trap particulate impurities, bacteria, viruses, and residual chlorine. This ensures the purified water contains only water molecules and essential minerals/trace elements needed by the human body.
Why did we develop a residual chlorine-removing UF membrane?
For flowing water, the contact time with ACF (or activated carbon) is too short, leading to limited residual chlorine adsorption—some residual chlorine may still remain. That’s why in 2023, we developed the residual chlorine-removing UF membrane, ensuring ChengrongEra’s kitchen water purifier delivers water that meets the mineral-water-like standard.
Additionally, placing ACF before the UF membrane (improving taste first, then trapping bacteria, viruses, and residual chlorine) eliminates the risk of bacterial overgrowth in the mineral-water-like output. Activated carbon (including ACF) is prone to bacterial breeding, our unique sequence prevents this issue entirely.
Most water purifiers on the market are RO (Reverse Osmosis) water purifiers.
With an RO membrane precision of up to 0.1 nanometers, water pressure is required to separate water molecules from impurities, resulting in inevitable wastewater. Water filtered through an RO membrane is pure water, containing nothing but water molecules. Bacteria, viruses, particulate impurities, residual chlorine, minerals, and trace elements are all rejected by the RO membrane.
Due to the lack of minerals and trace elements, the water’s electrical conductivity drops significantly, leading to a very low measured TDS value. At one point, people regarded the reduction in TDS value as the primary indicator of water purity. This logic is understandable, if even minerals and trace elements can be filtered out, bacteria and viruses are certainly removed. However, pure water tastes flat due to the absence of minerals and trace elements. Therefore, many RO water purifiers add an activated carbon filter element after the RO membrane to improve taste.
Today, people are increasingly recognizing the importance of minerals and trace elements in water. As a result, more and more RO water purifiers are equipped with an additional mineral filter element to reintroduce the minerals and trace elements removed by the RO membrane.
It’s crucial to note that TDS value only reflects water’s electrical conductivity—it cannot indicate whether the filtered water contains excessive bacteria, viruses, or heavy metals. Instead, it provides a rough estimate of the mineral and trace element content in water, which affects water taste and scale formation tendency.
In short, a lower TDS value does not equate to cleaner water.
For example, water in southern China is soft with a relatively low TDS value, but can we say the water from mountain streams there is clean and safe for direct consumption? No—because stream water is prone to E. coli contamination! TDS value cannot detect bacterial overgrowth. While ultrafiltration (UF) membranes cannot filter out heavy metals, TDS value also fails to indicate heavy metal contamination. This is because heavy metals have extremely low toxic thresholds, for instance, lead levels exceeding 0.01mg/L in water are already considered unsafe.
For municipal tap water, if heavy metals exceed the limit, the water source is already unsafe and classified as toxic, thus compliance with heavy metal standards is the norm.
The most common contamination of drinking water today comes from microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and certain parasites. That’s exactly the value proposition of ChengrongEra Mineral-Water-like Water Purifier: trapping bacteria, viruses, and parasites in water, removing residual chlorine, while preserving the natural minerals and trace elements.
The core function of ChengrongEra Water Purifier is to restore water to its original state.
Meanwhile, we aim to let users who choose and trust ChengrongEra enjoy a value-for-money water usage experience. In the water purification process, ChengrongEra only does "subtraction"—removing harmful substances without adding any extra ingredients, allowing water to return to its natural essence.
