Recently, the young colleagues at the company have been trying their hand at live streaming.
Over the past few days, they kept telling me that the water filtered by our kitchen mineral-like water purifier had an odd taste. How is that possible? After all, the water in my office also comes from the company’s mineral-like water purifier, and its taste has always been fine.
Since neither of us could convince the other, they even offered to bring me a glass of the water so I could taste it myself, but it seems that the young men have forgtten it.
Today, I went to the 7th-floor live streaming room to explain our products to them, and I took a look at their raw water tank while I was there. That’s when I finally figured out the reason.
They had added far too much soil to the raw water tank, and the water hadn’t been changed for days. With Shenzhen’s sweltering heat, bacteria can multiply rapidly even overnight. Our kitchen water purifiers are designed to meet household standards. The quality of their raw water was almost as poor as sewage, and the small activated carbon filter in our kitchen mineral-like water purifier simply couldn’t fully absorb the odd smells in the water.
So, it’s normal for the young colleagues to say the filtered water has a odd taste.
If want the water to be tasteless, we’ll need to switch to a larger activated carbon tank to purify the water.
Even if our kitchen mineral-like water purifier features a 4-stage composite filter system, where raw water is filtered through folded cotton, carbon fiber, PP cotton, and finally a residual chlorine-removing ultrafiltration membrane (independently R&D and manufactured by Chengrong Factory, hard to find a second one worldwid), we still ask our young colleagues to use fresh municipal tap water for each live stream.
Our ultrafiltration membrane is genuine, with a filtration precision of 0.01 microns. It can remove 99.99% of impurities in water, such as sediment particles, as well as bacteria and viruses.
And one thing we must stress is that our mineral-like water purifier is designed for real-world usage scenarios: it targets secondary pollution and residual chlorine in tap water after it leaves the water plants, such as rust and sediment from aging pipes, and bacteria and viruses in community secondary water supply tanks. Under normal circumstances, this tap water is not excessively contaminated and remains within the safe range for drinking.
Many product developers tend to rely on their own assumptions and only consider extreme cases, such as heavy metal exceeding standards. But tap water from water plants will never have excessive heavy metals. In fact, we have solutions to treat even the worst water quality. However, during actual product R&D and design, extreme cases have no reference value, such scenarios are better suited for custom-made solutions.
This is exactly the original intention behind developing our mineral-like water purifier. It not only addresses secondary tap water pollution, but also retains essential minerals and trace elements in the water. This allows our users to enjoy water that meets mineral water-like standards without pay more money to purchase mineral water.
