Since I started creating videos about ultrafiltration water purifiers, many ultrafiltration (UF) water purifier users have reached out to me for advice, when they incountered a problem.
I’ve identified two key factors that significantly impact the user experience of UF water filtration systems:
- Choosing an undersized filter cartridge for the UF system. Thus, when the pre-filter is installed, household water pressure drops drastically.
- Incorrect installation. Many users have their pre-filters mounted directly on the wall after the water pump, this is a critical mistake that easily causes UF membrane fouling and significantly shortens the filter cartridge’s service life.
Just yesterday, we arranged for a plumber via an online platform to install a ChengrongEra Micro-UF water purifier for whole house for a customer. However, the pipe connections were extremely unprofessional. Just from the photos, it was clear the plumber was cutting corners, with no consideration for user convenience whatsoever.
The 304 stainless steel housing of this whole house water filter is fixed to the wall with a black clamp. Both the top faucet and the middle water inlet can rotate 360° to match the actual pipe layout, this design is intentionally engineered to facilitate installation, improve pipe aesthetics, and enhance user accessibility.
Regrettably, the plumber we hired was not only unskilled but also lacked critical thinking. I really wonder if he felt uneasy looking at his shoddy work:
- The water inlet could have been rotated to the right for a neater appearance and reduced pipe usage.
- The faucet could have been positioned in the center or left for easier water access.
- Additionally, the union joints were improperly installed.
- The sewage discharge process,something we emphasized repeatedly, was completely neglected (evidenced by the dry floor).

As the saying goes, "Comparison highlights quality." We’ve had cases where customers had extremely limited installation space, yet the plumbers still managed to route the pipes neatly while prioritizing user convenience. The following pre-filter was installed by a professional plumber with exceptional professionalism and aesthetic appeal. I firmly believe his business is thriving, whenever his customers need pipe installation services, he’s their first choice. What’s more, his customers won’t mind paying a premium over his peers.
This is the best example of how being reliable earns customer trust.
The insights I gained from this experience are as follows:
- When arranging for plumbers via online platforms to install UF water prefiler for our customers, in addition to using high-quality piping materials, we must conduct thorough acceptance checks. If any irregularities are found, we should ask the plumber to adjust them promptly. Of course, if customers have trusted professional plumbers they know personally, they can inform our team in advance. After the pre-filter is installed, we will reimburse the installation fee accordingly.
- The 304 stainless steel lower housing of our pre-filter sits directly on the angle brackets—no permanent wall mounting required. This design allows users to backwash and manually clean the filter cartridge simultaneously, a scientifical and effective dual-cleaning method that maximizes the filter’s service life, at least 5 years, no second peer can do this.
- In this case, the customer may not have fully understood our product’s design concept and asked the plumber to fix the lower housing firmly to the wall. Therefore, it is necessary to popularize the correct installation method to customers: while customers do not need to install the water filtration system themselves, they should be able to verify whether the pre-filter is installed properly.
- Intelligence and maintenance-free operation are undeniable industry trends. Currently, products like intelligent self-cleaning pre-filtered Micro-UF water purifiers and intelligent ultrafiltration pre-filters have relatively few adopters due to their higher price point. However, as more people pursue a higher quality of life and recognize the benefits of whole-house water purification, intelligence will undoubtedly become the mainstream trend.
- Despite the fierce internal competition across industries, this experience has made me realize that there are still too few people who can do things both professionally and excellently—and such individuals will become increasingly sought-after. The root cause of "internal competition" lies in customers’ growing demand for higher quality products and services.
